حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَعْلَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ قَالَ : غَزَوْنَا مَعَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ كَابُلَ ، قَالَ : فَأَصَابَ النَّاسُ غَنِيمَةً فَانْتَهَبُوهَا ، فَأَمَرَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَمُرَةَ مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي ، فَنَادَى ، فَاجْتَمَعَ النَّاسُ ، فَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنِ انْتَهَبَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا " رُدُّوهَا ، فَرَدُّوهَا ، فَقَسَمَهَا بَيْنَهُمْ بِالسَّوِيَّةِ .
Abu Labid says that we participated in the jihad of Kabul with Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him). People saw some goats at one place and took them as loot. Seeing this, Hazrat Abdur Rahman ordered a caller to announce that I have heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever commits looting is not one of us, so return these goats. Consequently, the people returned the goats, and then he distributed the goats equally among them.
