حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنِ اتَّخَذَ كَلْبًا لَيْسَ بِكَلْبِ صَيْدٍ ، أَوْ كَلْبِ غَنَمٍ ، أَوْ كَلْبِ زَرْعٍ ، فَإِنَّهُ يُنْتَقَصُ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطٌ " .
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Mughaffal that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Whoever keeps a dog that is not for the protection of crops, hunting, or livestock, his reward will decrease by one qirat every day.
