حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كُرَيْزٍ الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الْبَصْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ الْمُزَنِي ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا تُصَلُّوا فِي عَطَنِ الْإِبِلِ ، فَإِنَّهَا مِنَ الْجِنِّ خُلِقَتْ ، أَلَا تَرَوْنَ عُيُونَهَا وَهِبَابَهَا إِذَا نَفَرَتْ ، وَصَلُّوا فِي مُرَاحِ الْغَنَمِ ، فَإِنَّهَا هِيَ أَقْرَبُ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ " .
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Mughaffal that I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: Do not pray in the places of camels, for their creation is like that of the jinn; when they become startled, you do not see their eyes and flames. However, you may pray in the sheepfolds, for they are closer to mercy.
