حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، وَحُمَيْدٌ ، وَيُونُسُ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيُّ النَّاسِ خَيْرٌ ؟ قَالَ : " مَنْ طَالَ عُمْرُهُ وَحَسُنَ عَمَلُهُ " ، قَالَ فَأَيُّ النَّاسِ شَرٌّ ؟ قَالَ : " مَنْ طَالَ عُمْرُهُ وَسَاءَ عَمَلُهُ " ، حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، وَيُونُسَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، فَذَكَرَهُ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man presented himself in the court of the Messenger and asked, "O Messenger of Allah, which person is the best?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "The one whose life is long and whose deeds are good." The questioner then asked, "And who is the worst person?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "The one whose life is long and whose deeds are bad."
