حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، أَنَّ عِيَاضَ بْنَ مُسَافِعٍ أَخْبَرَهُ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ أَخِي زِيَادٍ لِأُمِّهِ ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرَةَ : أَكْثَرَ النَّاسُ فِي شَأْنِ مُسَيْلِمَةَ الْكَذَّابِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقُولَ فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا ، ثُمَّ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي النَّاسِ ، فَأَثْنَى عَلَى اللَّهِ بِمَا هُوَ أَهْلُهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَمَّا بَعْدُ ، فَإِنَّ شَأْنَ هَذَا الرَّجُلِ الَّذِي قَدْ أَكْثَرْتُمْ فِي شَأْنِهِ ، فَإِنَّهُ كَذَّابٌ مِنْ ثَلَاثِينَ كَذَّابًا يَخْرُجُونَ قَبْلَ الدَّجَّالِ ، وَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بَلَدٌ إِلَّا يَدْخُلُهُ رُعْبُ الْمَسِيحِ إِلَّا الْمَدِينَةَ ، عَلَى كُلِّ نَقْبٍ مِنْ نِقَابِهَا يَوْمَئِذٍ مَلَكَانِ يَذُبَّانِ عَنْهَا رُعْبَ الْمَسِيحِ " . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that regarding Musaylimah the Liar, before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said anything, people used to talk a lot. One day, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to deliver a sermon and, after saying "Amma ba'd," said: "You have been talking a lot about this person. He is one of those thirty liars who will appear before the Day of Judgment. There will be no city where the terror of the Dajjal will not reach, except Madinah. At its two entrances, two angels will be appointed who will keep the terror of the Dajjal away from Madinah Munawwarah."
