حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا كَهْمَسٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي هَرَمِيُّ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ , وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ خُرَيْمٍ , وَكَانَا يُغَازِيَانِ ، فَحَدَّثَانِي حَدِيثًا ، وَلَمْ يَشْعُرْ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا أَنَّ صَاحِبَهُ حَدَّثَنِيهِ , عَنْ مُرَّةَ الْبَهْزِيِّ ، قَالَ : بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ مَعَ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي طَرِيقٍ مِنْ طُرُقِ الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَقَالَ : " كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُونَ فِي فِتْنَةٍ تَثُورُ فِي أَقْطَارِ الْأَرْضِ كَأَنَّهَا صَيَاصِي بَقَرٍ ؟ " قَالُوا : نَصْنَعُ مَاذَا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " عَلَيْكُمْ هَذَا وَأَصْحَابَهُ " أَوْ " اتَّبِعُوا هَذَا وَأَصْحَابَهُ " , قَالَ : فَأَسْرَعْتُ حَتَّى عَيِيتُ ، فَلَحِقْتُ الرَّجُلَ , فَقُلْتُ : هَذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " هَذَا " , فَإِذَا هُوَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , فَقَالَ : " هَذَا وَأَصْحَابُهُ " وَذَكَرَهُ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Marrah that once we were with the Prophet (peace be upon him) on a road in Madinah Munawwarah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "What will you do when tribulations spread throughout the world like the horns of a cow?" The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what should we do at that time?" Meanwhile, a veiled man passed by. The Prophet (peace be upon him) saw him and said, "He and his companions will be upon the truth at that time." I followed him, caught hold of his shoulder, turned his face towards the Prophet (peace be upon him), and asked, "This man?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Yes." When I looked, it was Hazrat Uthman Ghani.
