حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي ، عَنِ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ عَمٍّ لَهُ يُقَالُ لَهُ : جَارِيَةُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ : أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قُلْ لِي قَوْلًا وَأَقْلِلْ عَلَيَّ ، وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ , حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى : قَالَ هِشَامٌ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , وَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ لَمْ يُدْرِكْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ! يَعْنِي : يَحْيَى بْنَ سَعِيدٍ يَقُولُ : وَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ . .
Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Hisham informed us, my father informed me, from Al-Ahnaf ibn Qays, from an uncle of his called: Jariyah ibn Qudamah: That a man said: O Messenger of Allah, tell me a saying and make it brief for me, and he mentioned the hadith.
