حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ بَعْدِي مِنْ أُمَّتِي قَوْمًا يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ لَا يُجَاوِزُ حَلَاقِيمَهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الدِّينِ كَمَا يَخْرُجُ السَّهْمُ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ ، ثُمَّ لَا يَعُودُونَ إِلَيْهِ ، شَرُّ الْخَلْقِ وَالْخَلِيقَةِ " , قَالَ ابْنُ الصَّامِتِ : فَلَقِيتُ رَافِعًا فَحَدَّثْتُهُ ، فَقَالَ : وَأَنَا أَيْضًا قَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: After me, there will come a people in my Ummah who will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go below their throats. They will go out of the religion just as an arrow passes through its prey, and they will never return to the religion. They will be the worst of creation. Ibn Samit says: Then I met Hazrat Rafi' and narrated this hadith to him, so he said: I too heard this hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
