Hadith 20299

Abu Abdullah Jasri says: I asked Hazrat Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) about drinks, so he said: We used to live in Madinah Munawwarah where dates were abundant. There, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made the drink called Fadheeh forbidden for us. Then a man came and asked Hazrat Ma'qil bin Yasar about his elderly mother, whether Nabidh could be given to her because she could not eat any food. Hazrat Ma'qil forbade him from doing so.
