Narrated to us, narrated to us ‘Affan, narrated to us Abu ‘Awanah, narrated to us Al-Aswad ibn Qays, from Tha‘labah ibn ‘Abbad, from Samurah ibn Jundub, who said: He stood one day as a preacher and mentioned in his sermon a hadith. He said: While I and a boy from the Ansar were shooting at two targets of ours during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, the sun rose, and it was in the eye of the beholder at the length of two spears, and he continued the hadith. Then he said: "Amma ba‘du," and he said: Then he grasped the tips of his fingers, then he said, or he stood—I am uncertain again, but I have memorized what he said, and he did not advance a word from its place nor delay anything. And Abu ‘Awanah said: While I and a boy from the Ansar, and he also said: Then it blackened until it became, and Abu ‘Awanah said: "Zuwool," but "Zuwool" is more correct.
