وَمِنْ حَدِيثِ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَAnd from the hadith of Samurah ibn Jundub about the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith 20140

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذِهِ الْبَيَاضِ ، فَلْيَلْبَسْهَا أَحْيَاؤُكُمْ ، وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ ، فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ خَيْرِ ثِيَابِكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Make white clothes obligatory upon yourselves, wear white clothes yourselves, and shroud your dead in them, for they are the best of your clothes.
