حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ , أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " سَامُ أَبُو الْعَرَبِ ، وَحَامُ أَبُو الْحَبَشِ ، وَيَافِثُ أَبُو الرُّومِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sam is the ancestor of the Arabs, Ham is the ancestor of the Abyssinians, and Yafith is the ancestor of the Romans.
