وَمِنْ حَدِيثِ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَAnd from the hadith of Samurah ibn Jundub about the Prophet (peace be upon him)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، قَالَ : وَحَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَمُرَةَ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى مِنْبَرِ الْبَصْرَةِ , وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ خُلِقَتْ مِنْ ضِلْعٍ ، وَإِنَّكَ إِنْ تُرِدْ إِقَامَةَ الضِّلْعِ تَكْسِرْهَا ، فَدَارِهَا تَعِشْ بِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Woman has been created from a rib; if you try to straighten the rib, you will break it, so live with her as she is.
