وَمِنْ حَدِيثِ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَAnd from the hadith of Samurah ibn Jundub about the Prophet (peace be upon him)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , وَرَوْحٌ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " هِيَ الْعَصْرُ " , قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍِ : سُئِلَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once someone asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "What is meant by 'Salat al-Wusta'?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "The Asr prayer."
