حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ ، عَنْ رَبِيعِ بْنِ عَمِيلَةَ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا تُسَمِّ غُلَامَكَ أَفْلَحَ وَلَا نَجِيحًا وَلَا يَسَارًا وَلَا رَبَاحًا ، فَإِنَّكَ إِذَا قُلْتَ أَثَمَّ هُوَ ، أَوْ أَثَمَّ فُلَانٌ ؟ قَالُوا : لَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not name your children Aflah, Najeeh (successful), Yasar (ease), and Rabah (profit), because when you call out their names and ask if they are here, people will say, "No, he is not here."
