حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ الْهُذَلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْحَيِّ , أَنَّ يَعْلَي بْنَ سُهَيْلٍ مَرَّ بِعِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : يَا يَعْلَي ، أَلَمْ أُنَبَّأْ أَنَّكَ بِعْتَ دَارَكَ بِمِائَةِ أَلْفٍ ؟ قَالَ : بَلَى ، قَدْ بِعْتُهَا بِمِائَةِ أَلْفٍ , قَالَ : فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ بَاعَ عُقْدَةَ مَالٍ ، سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَيْهَا تَالِفًا يُتْلِفُهَا " .
Ya'la bin Suhail once passed by Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him). Hazrat Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him, "O Ya'la! I have heard that you have sold your house for one hundred thousand?" He replied, "Yes, I have sold it for one hundred thousand." He (Imran) said, "I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever sells the knot of his wealth, Allah imposes upon him something destructive, which ruins him."
