حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرِّشْكِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُطَرِّفًا يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ أَوْ قِيلَ لَهُ : أَيُعْرَفُ أَهْلُ النَّارِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " نَعَمْ " قَالَ : فَلِمَ يَعْمَلُ الْعَامِلُونَ ؟ قَالَ : " يَعْمَلُ كُلٌّ لِمَا خُلِقَ لَهُ " أَوْ " لِمَا يُسِّرَ لَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "Have the people of Hell and the people of Paradise already been distinguished from each other?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Yes!" He then asked, "Then why do those who act, perform deeds?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Every person does the deeds for which he was created."
