It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I bear witness regarding the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he led the prayer before the sermon on the day of Eid, then delivered the sermon. Afterwards, it occurred to him that the women might not have heard his voice, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the women and admonished and advised them, and instructed them to give charity. Upon this, the women began to take off their earrings and rings, etc., and give them in charity.
