It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ended the Asr prayer after only three rak'ahs and, after saying salam, went home. A man whose name was "Khurbaq" and whose hands were unusually long, got up and went after him, calling out, "O Messenger of Allah." When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out, he informed him that he had led only three rak'ahs. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned and asked the people, "Is he speaking the truth?" The people replied, "Yes!" So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) completed the missed rak'ah, said salam, performed two prostrations of forgetfulness (sahw), and then said salam again.
