حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ , عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَامِعِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ ، َعنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ مُحْرِزٍ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ : جَاءَ نَفَرٌ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ ، قَالَ وَكِيعٌ : جَاءَتْ بَنُو تَمِيمٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَبْشِرُوا يَا بَنِي تَمِيمٍ " قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، بَشَّرْتَنَا فَأَعْطِنَا , قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ : فَتَغَيَّرَ وَجْهُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : فَجَاءَ حَيٌّ مِنْ يَمَنٍ ، فَقَالَ : " اقْبَلُوا الْبُشْرَى إِذْ لَمْ يَقْبَلْهَا بَنُو تَمِيمٍ " قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَبِلْنَا .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that once some people from Banu Tamim came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them, "O Banu Tamim! Accept the glad tidings." They said, "O Messenger of Allah! You have given us glad tidings, now please give us something (as a gift) as well." Upon hearing this, the color of the blessed face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) changed. After a little while, a tribe from Yemen came, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them, "Banu Tamim did not accept the glad tidings, you accept them." They said, "O Messenger of Allah! We have accepted them."
