Hadith 19811

Sayyar Abu Minhal says that once I was present with my father in the company of Hazrat Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him). My father asked him, "Please tell us, how did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform the obligatory prayers?" He replied, "He would perform the Zuhr prayer when the sun had declined. He would perform the Asr prayer at such a time that when any one of us returned to his home in Madinah, the sun would still be visible. As for Maghrib, what he said about it I have forgotten. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) liked to delay the Isha prayer, and he did not like to sleep before it nor to talk after it. And after performing the Fajr prayer, he would finish at such a time that we could recognize the person sitting next to us, and in it he would recite between sixty and one hundred verses."
