حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَازِعِ , رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي رَاسِبٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بَرْزَةَ ، قَالَ : بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَسُولًا إِلَى حَيٍّ مِنْ أَحْيَاءِ الْعَرَبِ فِي شَيْءٍ لَا يَدْرِي مَهْدِيٌّ مَا هُوَ , قَالَ : فَسَبُّوهُ وَضَرَبُوهُ ، فَشَكَا ذَلِكَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " لَوْ أَنَّكَ أَهْلَ عُمَانَ أتَيْتَ ، مَا سَبُّوكَ وَلا ضَرَبُوكَ " . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a man to a tribe of the Arabs. Those people beat him and spoke ill to him. He returned to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and complained about it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you had gone to the people of Oman, they would neither have beaten you nor spoken ill to you."
