حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ الْحَبْحَابِ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْوَازِعِ جَابِرًا الرَّاسِبِيَّ ذَكَرَ , أَنَّ أَبَا بَرْزَةَ حَدَّثَهُ ، قَال : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي لَا أَدْرِي ، لَعَسَى أَنْ تَمْضِيَ وَأَبْقَى بَعْدَكَ ، فَحَدِّثْنِي بِشَيْءٍ يَنْفَعُنِي اللَّهُ بِهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " افْعَلْ كَذَا ، افْعَلْ كَذَا " أَنَا نَسِيتُ ذَلِكَ , " وَأَمِرَّ الْأَذَى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I submitted in the court of the Messenger, "O Messenger of Allah! I do not know whether I will remain alive after your departure. Please teach me something from which I may benefit." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said several things which I forgot, and he said, "Remove harmful things from the path of Muslims."
