حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَن أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ الضُّبَعِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا وَصَفَهُ كَانَ يَكُونُ مَعَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : كَتَبَ أَبُو مُوسَى إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : إِنَّكَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ زَمَانِكَ ، وَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ كَانَ أَحَدُهُمْ إِذَا أَصَابَهُ الشَّيْءُ مِنَ الْبَوْلِ ، قَرَضَهُ بِالْمَقَارِيضِ " ، وَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ عَلَى دَمْثٍ يَعْنِي : مَكَانًا لَيِّنًا فَبَالَ فِيهِ ، وَقَالَ : " إِذَا بَالَ أَحَدُكُمْ ، فَلْيَرْتَدْ لِبَوْلِهِ " .
Abu Tayyaḥ narrates from a tall, dark-skinned man that he came to Basra with Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him). He wrote a letter to Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him). Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote back to him that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was once walking, and upon reaching soft ground near the side of a garden, he urinated there and said: Among the Children of Israel, when any person urinated and a little urine touched his body, he would cut off that part with scissors. And he said: When any of you intends to urinate, he should look for soft ground for it.
