حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيُّ ، عَن أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى ، عَن أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَبْشِرُوا وَبَشِّرُوا النَّاسَ ، مَنْ قَالَ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، صَادِقًا بِهَا ، دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ " ، فَخَرَجُوا يُبَشِّرُونَ النَّاسَ ، فَلَقِيَهُمْ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، فَبَشَّرُوهُ ، فَرَدَّهُمْ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ رَدَّكُمْ ؟ " ، قَالُوا : عُمَرُ ، قَالَ : " لِمَ رَدَدْتَهُمْ يَا عُمَرُ ؟ " قَالَ : إِذًَا يَتَّكِلَ النَّاسُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I presented myself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and some people from my tribe were with me. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Accept the glad tidings and convey them to those who are left behind you, that whoever bears witness with a sincere heart that there is no god but Allah will enter Paradise. We left the presence of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and upon meeting Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), we began to convey this glad tidings to him. He took us to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! In this way, people will rely on this and just sit back.
