حَمَمَةَ شَهِيدٌ .
Humaid bin Abdur Rahman says that there was a man named "Hammah" who was among the companions of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him). During the caliphate of Hazrat Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him), he set out for jihad towards Isfahan and made this supplication: O Allah! Hammah thinks that he desires to meet You. If Hammah is truthful, then fulfill his truthfulness and resolve, and if he is lying, then grant him his resolve even if he dislikes it. O Allah! Do not return Hammah from this journey. Thus, death overtook him and he passed away in Isfahan. Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said: O people! Whatever we have heard from your Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) and as far as our knowledge reaches, it is that Hammah has been martyred.
