Hadith 196

Once, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "The actions that we do, have they already been written or do our actions come first?" He replied, "No! Rather, they have already been written." Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted, "Should we not then rely on that?" He said, "O Ibn Khattab! Continue to act, because for every person, the means for which he was created are provided, and that action is made easy for him. Then, the one who is destined for happiness does good deeds, and the one who is among the wretched does deeds of misery."
