It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me towards Yemen. I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! There are some drinks prevalent there. Which of those drinks should I drink and which should I leave?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the names of those drinks. I told him, "Taba‘ and Mizr." But the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not understand what kind of drinks these were, so he asked, "What is Taba‘ and Mizr?" I submitted, "Taba‘ refers to the nabidh of barley which is well-cooked, and Mizr refers to the nabidh of honey." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do not drink anything intoxicating."
