حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : قِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : الرَّجُلُ يُحِبُّ الْقَوْمَ ، وَلَمَّا يَلْحَقْ بِهِمْ ؟ قَالَ : " الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked: If a person loves a people but cannot reach them, what is the ruling? The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A person will be with those whom he loves.
