حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ زَهْدَمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، أَنَّهُ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ وَهُوَ يَأْكُلُ دَجَاجًا ، فَتَنَحَّى ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي حَلَفْتُ أَنْ لَا آكُلَهُ ، إِنِّي رَأَيْتُهُ يَأْكُلُ شَيْئًا قَذِرًا ، فَقَالَ : ادْنُهُ ، فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْكُلُهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to him while he was eating chicken. That man sat to one side and said, "I have taken an oath that I will not eat it because I see chickens eating filth." He (Abu Musa) said, "Come closer, for I have seen the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) eating it."
