حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَنَاءُ أُمَّتِي بِالطَّعْنِ وَالطَّاعُونِ " ، فَقِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَذَا الطَّعْنُ قَدْ عَرَفْنَاهُ ، فَمَا الطَّاعُونُ ؟ قَالَ : " وَخْزُ أَعْدَائِكُمْ مِنَ الْجِنِّ ، وَفِي كُلٍّ شُهَدَاءُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "My Ummah will perish by 'ta'n' and 'ta'oon'." Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! We have understood the meaning of 'ta'n' (that is, being struck with spears), but what is meant by 'ta'oon'?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The stings of your enemy jinn, and in both cases there is martyrdom."
