Hadith 19450

It is narrated from Hazrat Amr bin Abasah (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day horses were being presented before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). At that time, Uyainah bin Hisn was also with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "I know better horses than you." He said, "I know men better than you." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "How is that?" He replied, "The best men are those who carry swords on their shoulders, place spears on the necks of horses, and wear the cloaks of the people of Najd." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You are wrong. Rather, the best people are the people of Yemen. Faith is Yemeni. This ruling applies up to Lakhm, Juzam, and Amilah. The people of Himyar who have passed are better than those who remain. Hadramaut is better than Banu Harith. One tribe can be better than another, and one tribe can be worse than another. By Allah! I do not care if both Hariths perish. Allah's curse is upon four types of kings: (1) the miserly, (2) the treacherous, (3) the ill-tempered, (4) the weak and feeble, and among them are also those with bad character."
