Hazrat Amr bin Abasah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever throws an arrow—whether it hits the target or misses—it is as if he has freed a slave from among the descendants of Ismail. And whoever grows old in the path of Allah, that old age will be a source of light for him on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever frees a Muslim slave, for every limb of that slave, it will be a means of his freedom from Hell. And if a woman frees a Muslim slave-girl, for every limb of that slave-girl, it will be a ransom for her from the fire of Hell. And any Muslim man or woman whose three minor children die, they will become a shield for him from the fire of Hell. And whoever stands to perform ablution with the intention of prayer and thoroughly washes all the parts of ablution, he will be protected from every sin and slip, then when he stands for prayer, Allah will raise his rank by its blessing, and when he sits, he will sit free from sins. Shurahbil bin Simt said: O son of Abasah! Did you yourself hear this hadith from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? He replied: Yes! By Him besides whom there is no deity, if I had not heard this hadith from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) even up to seven times, I would not have cared if I did not narrate it to the people, but by Allah! I do not remember the number of times I have heard this hadith from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
