Abu Umamah says that I asked Hazrat Amr bin Abasah (may Allah be pleased with him) to narrate to us a hadith from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in which there is no addition, omission, or doubt. He replied: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: If a person has three children born to him in the state of Islam and they die before reaching the age of maturity, then Allah Almighty will admit that person into Paradise due to his compassion for those children. And whoever grows old in the way of Allah, that old age will be a source of light for him on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever shoots an arrow—whether it hits the target or misses—it is as if he has freed a slave. And whoever frees a Muslim slave, for every limb of that slave, it will be a means of freedom from Hell for him. And whoever spends two pairs (of something) in the way of Allah, the eight gates of Paradise will be opened for him, so that he may enter Paradise through whichever gate he wishes.
