حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ الْأَخْضَرِ " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : فَالْأَبْيَضِ ؟ قَالَ : لَا أَدْرِي .
Shaibani (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I heard Ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) saying that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade nabidh (fermented drink) in green pitchers. I asked him, "What is the ruling regarding white pitchers?" He replied, "I do not know."
