Hadith 19383

It is narrated from Hazrat Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) that I asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about hunting with a dog. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you release your trained dog for hunting and mention the name of Allah, then whatever game it catches for you and does not eat itself, you may eat it. And if you find the game alive, then slaughter it. And if the dog has eaten from it, then do not eat it.
