حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْأَجْلَحُ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ : أَنَّ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أُتِيَ فِي ثَلَاثَةِ نَفَرٍ إِذْ كَانَ بِالْيَمَنِ اشْتَرَكُوا فِي وَلَدٍ ، فَأَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ ، فَضَمِنَ الَّذِي أَصَابَتْهُ الْقُرْعَةُ ثُلُثَيْ الدِّيَةِ ، وَجَعَلَ الْوَلَدَ لَهُ ، قَالَ زَيْدُ بْنُ أَرْقَمَ : فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِقَضَاءِ عَلِيٍّ ، فَضَحِكَ حَتَّى بَدَتْ نَوَاجِذُهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was in Yemen, a woman was brought to him with whom three men had committed adultery during the same period of purity. He cast lots among them, and the one whose name was drawn was declared to be the father of the child, and two-thirds of the blood money was imposed upon him. When this matter was presented before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled so much that his blessed teeth became visible.
