Hadith 1933

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that I used to know that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had finished the prayer by hearing the sound of takbeer. Benefit: What is meant by this is the takbeer after the completion of the prayer, when the Imam places his hand on his head and says "Allahu Akbar" or "Astaghfirullah"; otherwise, the prayer does not end with takbeer, but with salam.
