حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا أَنْتُمْ جُزْءٌ مِنْ مِئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ : مِنْ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفًا مِمَّنْ يَرِدُ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ " ، قَالَ : فَسَأَلُوهُ : كَمْ كُنْتُمْ ؟ فَقَالَ : ثَمَانِ مِئَةٍ ، أَوْ : سَبْعَ مِئَةٍ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, during a journey, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) camped at a place and said, "On the Day of Resurrection, those who come to me at the Pond of Kawthar will not even be one hundred-thousandth of you." We asked Hazrat Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him), "How many were you at that time?" He replied, "Seven hundred or eight hundred."
