It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: O Allah! I seek refuge in You from helplessness, laziness, old age, cowardice, miserliness, and the torment of the grave. O Allah, grant my soul piety and purify it, for You are the best to purify it and You are its Master and Protector. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from a heart devoid of humility, an insatiable soul, unbeneficial knowledge, and a supplication that is not accepted. Hazrat Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to teach us this supplication and we are teaching it to you.
