حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سَلَّامُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ ، عَنْ عَائِذِ اللَّهِ الْمُجَاشِعِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي دَاوُدَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : أَوْ : قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا هَذِهِ الْأَضَاحِيُّ ؟ قَالَ : " سُنَّةُ أَبِيكُمْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالُوا : مَا لَنَا مِنْهَا ؟ قَالَ : بِكُلِّ شَعْرَةٍ حَسَنَةٌ " ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَالصُّوفُ ؟ قَالَ : بِكُلِّ شَعْرَةٍ مِنَ الصُّوفِ حَسَنَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "What is the reality of these sacrifices?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "It is the Sunnah of your father, Hazrat Ibrahim." They asked, "What will we get in return for it?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "For every hair, a good deed." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What about wool?" He replied, "For every hair of wool, too, you will get a good deed."
