حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلَ شَرِيكِي وَأَنَا مَعَهُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى عَنِ الْجَرَادِ ، فَقَالَ : لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ ، وَقَالَ : " غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبْعَ غَزَوَاتٍ ، فَكُنَّا نَأْكُلُهُ " .
Abu Ya'fur says that one of my partners asked Abdullah bin Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) in my presence about the ruling on locusts. He replied that there is no harm in it, and said that I participated in seven battles with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and in those battles we used to eat locusts.
