حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِيَادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِيَادٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ نَابِي يَعْنِي نَائِي وَنَحْنُ فِي الصَّفِّ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَدَخَلَ فِي الصَّفِّ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا ، وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا ، فَرَفَعَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ رُؤُوسَهُمْ ، وَاسْتَنْكَرُوا الرَّجُلَ ، فَقَالُوا : مَنْ الَّذِي يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ هَذَا الْعَالِي الصَّوْتَ ؟ " قَالَ : هُوَ ذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . قَالَ : " وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ كَلَامَكَ يَصْعَدُ فِي السَّمَاءِ حَتَّى فُتِحَ بَابٌ مِنْهَا ، فَدَخَلَ فِيهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were standing in a row behind the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performing prayer, when a man came and joined the row and said, "Allahu Akbar Kabira, wa Subhanallahi Bukratan wa Aseela." At this, the Muslims began to raise their heads and disliked this person, thinking in their hearts, "Who is this man who is raising his voice above the voice of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)?" When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, he said, "Who is the one who raised his voice?" It was told, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! It was this person." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "By Allah! I saw that your words ascended to the heavens until a door was opened and they entered through it."
