حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى ، قَالَ : " سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَى عَنِ الْجَرِّ الْأَخْضَرِ " ، يَعْنِي النَّبِيذَ فِي الْجَرِّ الْأَخْضَرِ . قَالَ : قُلْتُ : فَالْأَبْيَضُ ؟ ! قَالَ : لَا أَدْرِي.
Shaibani (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I heard Ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) saying that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade nabidh (fermented drink) in green pitchers. I asked him, "What is the ruling regarding white pitchers?" He replied, "I do not know."
