حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِهِ ، فَرَأَيْتُ عِنْدَهُ قَرْعًا ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا هَذَا ؟ قَالَ : " هَذَا قَرْعٌ نُكَثِّرُ بِهِ طَعَامَنَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir Ahmisi (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I presented myself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and there was gourd (pumpkin) with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I asked, "What is this?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "With this, we increase our food."
