Abdul Aziz bin Rafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I and Shaddad bin Ma’qil went to the service of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has left only that which is between the two covers (i.e., the Noble Qur’an). We went to Muhammad bin Ali and he also said the same. It would have been better if he had used the word “revelation” (so that hadith would also be included).
