Hadith 19022

قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ ، مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ التَّمَّارِّ ، عَنِ الْبَيَاضِيِّ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ وَقَدْ عَلَتْ أَصْوَاتُهُمْ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ الْمُصَلِّي يُنَاجِي رَبَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَلْيَنْظُرْ مَا يُنَاجِيهِ ، وَلَا يَجْهَرْ بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ بِالْقُرْآنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Bayazi (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the people while they were praying, and during the recitation of the Qur'an their voices were being raised. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A person who is praying is supplicating to his Lord, so he should see to whom he is supplicating, and you should not raise your voices over one another while reciting the Qur'an."
