Hadith 1900

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), during his final illness, once lifted the curtain of his chamber. The people were performing prayer behind Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people! Of the glad tidings of prophethood, nothing remains except for the good dreams which a Muslim sees or which are shown to him." Then he said: "I have been forbidden from reciting the Qur'an in the state of bowing (ruku') or prostration (sajdah), so in ruku' glorify the greatness of your Lord, and in sajdah make supplication with full attention, for it is hoped that your supplication will be answered."
