Hadith 18986

حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ هُشَيْمٌ مَرَّتَيْنِ : مَرَّةً عَنْ ابْنِ الْعَلَاءِ ، وَمَرَّةً لم يصل ، أن أباه كتب إلى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَبَدَأَ بِنَفْسِهِ " .
Ibn Alaa says that once his father wrote a letter to the Prophet (peace be upon him), and at the beginning, he wrote his own name first (as this is also the Sunnah).
