حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ . قَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً : عَنْ بُسْرٍ أَوْ بشْرِ بْنِ مِحْجَنٍ ، ثُمَّ كَانَ يَقُولُ بَعْدُ : عَنِ ابْنِ مِحْجَنٍ الدِّيلِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَحَضَرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ ، فَصَلَّى ، فَقَالَ لِي : " أَلَا صَلَّيْتَ ؟ " قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَدْ صَلَّيْتُ فِي الرَّحْلِ ، ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُكَ ، قَالَ : " فَإِذَا فَعَلْتَ ، فَصَلِّ مَعَهُمْ ، وَاجْعَلْهَا نَافِلَةً " . قَالَ أَبِي : وَلَمْ يَقُلْ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ وَلَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ : " وَاجْعَلْهَا نَافِلَةً ".
It is narrated from Hazrat Mihjan that once I was present in the service of the Prophet, the prayer was established, so I sat to one side. After the prayer, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to me, "Why did you not pray with the people?" I replied that I had already prayed at home. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Even if you have prayed at home, still join the people in prayer and make the intention of nafl (supererogatory prayer)."
